“You’re Never Too Old To Follow Your Dreams”
So much of our society here in the U.S. focuses on youth, and most companies follow suit. To be honest, it boggles my mind. Older adults have so much to offer. Not only in business, as customers, but as people.
In business terms, I suppose the thought is young people grow into adults and the sooner you capture this audience, the better. The trouble is, most of the time, companies tend to forget about customers once they reach a certain age.
The way I see it, your never too old to follow your dreams. And being an older entrepreneur, especially in this day and age, gives you a unique ability to capture your audience.
Older entrepreneurs are in a very unique and advantageous position.
- You’re smart and savvy
- Know more people
- Business & life experience
- Being an older entrepreneur, you’ve seen trends come and go
- Have an understanding of your peers someone younger doesn’t have
- You’ve been part of (or almost) every age group
- Broad understanding of your customers
- Can tap into a market you understand and isn’t being catered to
Whether you are just starting out, or have a long history in business, there are many ways to start your own business.
Your age isn’t what matters. It’s how willing you are to learn new things, work hard and put yourself out there that really makes the difference.
I’ll be discussing ways to get started in future posts.
In the meantime, I’d be interested to hear what’s holding you back from living the life you’ve always dreamed of.

I don’t give a hoot what anybody thinks and I urge everyone else to think the same. Only you can determine what is best for you, although those around us seem to think they have the answers. The world wants to dictate to you to tell you that you are too old for this or that…BUT that is not up to them….
